As part of the mission to become the go-to destination for anything Art & Crafts in Nigeria, Crafts Village Nigeria is pleased to introduce the CraftsVillage Academy; an Art & Craft School in Lagos where we offer Art, Crafts & other handicrafts training to beginners or intermediates. Our handicrafts training initiative is focused on identifying & teaching arts & crafts as a sources of livelihood for the young people interested in starting a business & to make a living from the creative trade.
We’ve partnered with reputable tutors & individuals to create a platform that would provide top-notch trainings that can promote employment and income generating skills for young creative people in Nigeria.
We explore the possibility of training over a thousand youths and young adults yearly with array of Art & Craft skills thereby making them self-employed individual with basic skills to fend for themselves.
What Handicrafts Trainings are offered at the Academy?
First by understanding the definition of Handicraft; it is defined as skills done with the hands or an occupation or craft done using the hands. It is a traditional main sector of craft and applies to a wide range of creative and design activities that are related to making things with one’s hands and skill, including work with textiles, moldable and rigid materials, paper, plant fibers, etc.
