We have learnt the ways of this world and how it morphs the familiar into the uncanny. We live in a world shaped by narratives; of our past, of ourselves. The Oasis makes room for the buried, the suppressed, and the deliberately forgotten.
Here reclaiming and reimagining is a world-making act. For us to access a reality that is radically different from where we are, we must see our world in ways we have never imagined. Our goal is to build an authentic living archive of African traditional textiles and the real people and stories behind them.
