A Nigerian doctor and visual artist, Dr. Fola David, has kicked off his official attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the largest drawing by an individual on an eight-hundred-and-fifty-square-meter canvas. Titled ‘Unity in Diversity,’ the artwork aims to showcase the country’s diverse tribes through their unique features in the form of a Nigerian map, portraying the diverse cultures of the country.
According to Dr. Fola via his Instagram page, the sole aim of this six-day journey is to preach love and peace through the drawing, which are vital components for Nigeria’s development as a nation.
The attempt has commenced and is currently taking place at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos. It is set to run from Tuesday, 16th of July till Sunday, 21st of July, 2024. The attempt is open for public viewing.
