National Museum, Igbo-Ukwu is located in Ngor village of Aguata local government area of Anambra state, Nigeria. Igbo Ukwu (Igbo: Great Igbo) museum is also called the Igbo museum. The origin of this museum can be traced to 1939 when a man called Mr Isaiah Anozie uncovered  artifacts and bronze work whilst digging a cistern beside his home.This National Museum is a notable archaeological place where other excavators also found bronze artifacts from a highly sophisticated bronze metal working culture that predate other well known ones like the Ife bronze, Benin bronze of Edo state, dated to the 9th century AD. With the help of the National gallery of Arts in Abuja, and intercession of the king of the community, this museum was established and a structure partly erected for it.

The National Museum, Igbo-Ukwu is home to a lot of historical collections, sculptors and artifacts like jewelry, ceramics, a corpse adorned in what appears to be regalia and many assorted bronze, copper, and iron objects. Some of these items contain materials that are evidence of a long distance trading system of the Egyptians. There is a place in the National Museum, Igbo-Ukwu that is a shrine. This shrine contains sacred vessels and regalia. In the museum, a lot of old ancestral pots would are housed for the pleasure and satisfaction of visitors. Igbo-Ukwu is regarded as the ancestral home of the Igbos.
